About Us

The Flint Hills Renewable Energy and Efficiency Cooperative (FHREEC) is a collective of volunteers who are dedicated to solar energy. Our personal approach to solving energy problems has been based on neighbors-helping-neighbors . We work with the homeowner to put up solar panels to generate electricity, and we help to reduce the cost by buying in bulk at the most effective price. Because of the new technology, our system is safe, relatively inexpensive, and easy to install. At our community events, we share our knowledge and experience, and we keep ourselves informed about the technology in the fast changing economic environment. FHREEC has been modeled after another co-op - the Plymouth Area Renewable Energy Initiative (PAREI) in New Hampshire. Thank You, PAREI!
